One of the Search Engine Optimization questions I have heard recently is "if mentioning something once is better, why not repeat the same line a number of times?" The following article does a excellent job explaining this:

In brief, though, search engines flag duplicate content. At best, the duplicate content will be only counted once. However, because content is the foremost factor for search engine ranking, repeated content could lead to you receiving a lower position in the organic search engine results.
